As if the tide is out

Our lake looks as if the tide is out. Earth is starting to appear along the sea walls. No boating for at least a month. Life is still good!

Organ concert and lunch

The title describes what half my day will be made of. It beats the day lights out of suiting up in an arc flash suit and helmet and checking for electrical hot spots in our service panels. That was yesterdays task. In addition to cleaning the sixteen columns at the entry to our building.

Down goes the lake

Today starts a month long drain down of the lake. The level will be dropped to allow for repairs and clean up of docks and boat houses. It will look so strange to see it dry around the boat house.

The new deal

I will be saying good bye to my old boss this week and hello to a new one next week. This is upsetting to say the least. We have had a great team and it is not to say the same is possible with the the new boss. Still I would prefer to go on with what's in place.

Yippy Skippy it's the weekend

The back is a little improved this morning. It is nice to feel it going in the right direction.

Working only a half day to day to compensate for the long day on Monday. Diane and Guests will meet me in town after work for lunch.

My back is still hurting

It's time to move on to the next pain or problem. This back pain is getting old quick. When I went to bed last night it was improved however, this morning it is not cooperating.

Back strain

Yesterday morning I uncured a slight back strain. Today it is still a bit stiff and hurting but tolerable. I will hope for light duty and low stress and for Tylenol to do its magic. I so wish I could take aspirin.

Long Day

Yesterday was a long workday. 12 1/2 hours, but the dining room carpet is clean. I am a little tired this morning from the long day and then a hard time getting to sleep. I may need to find a respite room for some R&R today.

What a weekend

As far as weather goes you can't get much better than this past weekend. 60s for the lows and eighties for the highs.

We did a little work around the house this weekend. Diane got the fall colors out and about (see facebook). We went out to eat on Friday night. and I watched a Nascar race on Sunday. Well, part of it.

Beautiful day

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Fifty in the morning and 83 by mid day. Low humidity with a very light breeze. A smell of fireplace in the air from the morning chill. and everybody happy just to be a part of such a beautiful day.

Thursday Party

We are having a staff meeting today at work.
It will be made to look like a party.
My director will anounce that she will be leaving.
It will be a sad day in the Village.
She was the catalyst that made it seem like a great place to work.
I will miss her a lot.

Cooool

It is just about to get in the the forties here. 1/2 of a degree and we are there. It feels cold but after the heat we had (four months of ninety plus) It's a welcomed feeling.

The idea of going to work yesterday to rest up did not work out. It was a busy and expensive I spent a thousand dollars before the day was done. Glad it was the companies money.

Another busy weekend

Work mixed in with a little more work. I will need to go to work and rest up.

Worked on my car an Saturday. Internet comments on the repair said the repair was a knuckle buster and could take 6 hrs. I was done in less than an hour with no blood shed.

Really need to consider having a garage sale. Things are starting to pile up. I believe I said this would not happen again after our move.

What's in store

This weekend brings car repair. My Focus needs a new thermostat housing. This could be an hour or six depending how it goes. Not really looking forward to this but I hate spending money on things I can do.

New Shirt Day

I am wearing a new shirt to work today. Friday when I left work I traveled to Dillards. I wanted ti check if the had a sale on polo shirts. Did they ever. 70% off with and additional 50 % of the lowest marked price. I purchased 14 shirts for 54 dollars. I should of purchase more and set up selling them on EBAY.

Feeling good

The toe is not causing me any real problems. Walking uphill seems to make it hurt some but other than that it's OK. Other than being purple.

Fall is back! The low this morning is in the upper fifties with highs in the low eighties. It was so nice to got down to the water and feel the cool breeze last night.

Weekend accomplished

We got a lot accomplished over the weekend. Attended garage sales, Christmas shopped, painted porch deck, cleaned both boats and trimmed some hedges vacuumed cars and broke one of my toes. All in all a good weekend, except for the toe part. While cleaning the boat I lightly stubbed my toe but heard this crack it is now purple and very tender. The good thing is, having my shoes on does not seem to hurt it.

Payday

Today is payday and for some reason it makes work just a little more fun to go to. I don't receive a real check because of direct deposit and truth be known, sometimes it doesn't clear the bank until Friday. Never the less it still makes every other Thursday special.

We have been in the nineties all week and with fall around the corner I am hoping for cooler temps.

We have company coming in the next three months. We are sure looking forward to that!
