vacation break

Today I am taking a break from vacation and going to work. I am not sure it is good or bad. I have not quite settled into vacation time. I have been a little jumpy being off my normal routine. That coupled with being sooooo hot you don't feel like doing to many things. I will try again on Thursday.

OH BOY OH BOY

Seven and one half hours on the job and its off for eight of the next nine days. That will be the most time off in the last two years. I should have things caught up by the end of the day making for some good time away from the job.

Mission accomplished

Yesterdays mission at work was accomplished. I was soaked from head to toe after the first opener was installed. A few small things this morning and the lightning damage should be repaired, then it's on to the normal stuff where I am way behind.

The Goal

Today's goal is to take care of normal business and install five garage door openers. All in 95 degree heat. I will be a limp noodle by the end of the day.

Porch sitting was beautiful last night and with the moon at half the lake at bedtime is a wonderful sight. I am a lucky man!

Last night via the Internet I found an beachfront Villa I can afford. It is located on the Pacific Ocean. That would be the South Pacific. The villa is located in Ecuador. The fun part is you can live nicely on $1,200.00 a month. the bad part is I don't speak Spanish.

Light at the end of the tunnel

If all goes well, at the end of the next five days I will have all things repaired at work and a short vacation started.

The weekend was nice. I did the usual, mow grass, trim trees and trim hedges. Friday night the deer tried to help they ate most everything. Potato vine, Hostas, Hibiscus bean vine, shrubs. They come in like locus and in one night clean you out.

If thing go as planed I will have all systems normal by the end of next week. As long as more lightning doesn't do any more damage. Yesterday I notice additional damage on our security video, one of the cameras took a hit.

Damage

Yesterday I blog about getting a call about problems at the Villa's. After spending the day evaluating, the damage list total up to 5 garage door openers, 22 smoke detectors and eight auto dialer's. 2 TVs and a cordless phone. All which means I have 7 days left this month to get it fixed.

Crazy Week

This is starting to be the craziest week at work. If it's not one thing it's ten. Yesterday the complete fire alarm system at the suites went into meltdown ( at least the control board) then last night I get a call at about 10:00, five Villas are calling in with auto dialer's that they need assistance. Mind you they are all independent system and structures with surge protectors. All these problems are most likely caused by thunderstorms. This will all be capped of on Friday by a board of trustees meeting with corporate officers at our facility.

Best part of the day

Last night I called Dad and Sister Joyce and it turned out to be the best part of my day. I did end up longing for Dads clarity of mind. and Joyce's level of drive and energy. I have trouble telling Diane what I had for lunch on some days , yet dad can recall his whole day without problem. It seems I only have enough energy to go to work , yet Joyce goes and does everything. Somewhere along life I must have picked up the lazy bug.

Lazy

Other than mowing the grass and cleaning the shop I was a lazy Lima bean this weekend. Diane on the other hand worked nonstop. We did manage a boat ride. And I watched two movies on TV. And now it's back to work! whoopee!

Tea Party

I was watching the news last night while the discussion was on the effect of the Tea Party and the changes it could make on the political landscape. I think I believe that our system is losing the ability to govern due to party politics. And that the movement to change is more fiscal than political. I wondered where I fit in. I guess I am somewhere in the Tea party with a little sugar.

Sleepless

Yesterdays blog mention a good nights sleep. Two in a row would be to much to ask for. I lay awake most of last night and when I did sleep it was weird dreams. I had one dream that when I awoke I was angry from the situation on the dream. Then I lay there and motor brain. The good thing is tonight I get to try all over again.

Rested

Last night brought a good nights sleep. It's strange that as you get older you sometimes loose the ability to sleep well. I seem to always sleep but many times just not well. Today I feel rested. So bring on the world I'm ready! Maybe not the world but at least work.

This doesn't happen often! Out cable and Internet bill went down thirty dollars. I think it came from the pressure from satellite TV.

Great weekend! The weather was upper eighties and low nineties with low humidity.

Faster than a speeding bullit

This week flew by like a drunk Friday night. Here it is Friday already. At this rate I will be old and retired before I know it. Oh No! Ah Yes! Of course as we watch the stock market this week the only guarantee is the getting old part.

Shorter

Maybe it's clouds but I sense the days getting a little shorter. It's just a little darker in the morning when I blog. The funny thing is I love daylight as much as I love sleeping at night. So all in all I guess it works out. If only if we went to bed at sundown and awoke at sunrise. Just think what we would save in electricity.
