Lunch date

I am going to have a short day today. I will be leaving at 1:00 for lunch with our company and then it will be time to celebrate the new year. Then it's back to work tomorrow.

In the middle of the night

that's what getting up feels like this morning. 3 hour time change to the bad is never a good thing. The trip was great and the weather was good. Now it's back to the salt mine.

Burning Sticks

I lit up the stick burning pile yesterday. Being so wet I figured it was a safe time. I did not figure on standing close enough to stay warm. We had a high of only fifty yesterday and the sun came out.

I started both boats yesterday but it was to cold to go for a ride. So I just sat behind the wheel and pretended.

More rain

Possible 2-3 inches it's just what we need. We go from drought to possibly the wettest year on record. I bought new wiper blades yesterday. I wore the other ones out!

The future of senior care

The president of our corporation came to our campus yesterday. He wish us a Merry Christmas and mention the future of senior care. With the advent of Baby Boomers entering the senior status the need for assisted living will be dramatically expanding. So ya better get your name on the list. I though this will be good for job security, but then I realized! I will be in need not providing.

Fire!

Friday afternoon as I was leaving work to go to Orlando I was called back do to a fire in one of the Villa's. One of the residents left a burner on and had plastic bottles of seasoning along the back of her stove. And either one had fell on the burner or just got hot enough to ignite. The smoke damage was enough that she needed to leave. There was a tremendous amount of soot.

Sawgrass & Aligators

While I did not see either it was still a nice trip to Florida. We were able to spend the day with Andy and have a nice meal out. Fortunately the rain stayed North and temps were great.

Let's Party

Today is the staff Christmas party. We will all get drunk and take the residents meds ourselves and let them shift for themselves. All in a one hour party.

I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas

More rain this morning! Wind is ah blowing and you would think it a blizzard out there. However it was 66 degrees at 5 am. At this rate Alabama and Florida will be going to court to stop the flow of water coming down from Georgia. Quite the change from a couple of years ago.

Extended hours

I have extended my work hours this week so I may take an early leave on Friday. I really could get into four 10 hr days.

Guess what? The forecast is for more rain today, Quack Quack. The wind blew over our reflecting ball last week and broke it . I guess you could say that's a reflection of the type of weather we are having. Plus we had a earthquake, 3.2 on the scale. Rock and Roll.

Untill next year

The freeze came this weekend and most of the tropical plants are gone. I will have to go into the greenhouse to enjoy the green growth. A walk in there smells just like Nieman Brother did. The Geraniums seem to like it there a lot of new growth and some flowers.

High Water

The lake is high and a sea of red. The clay in the water will make for some beautiful golden pond sunsets. Problem is if the water gets anymore clay in it we will be able to walk across it.

Sticks anyone

Are yard is full of sticks, leaves and stuff. Heavy rains and wind were the order for yesterday. Things at home and at work are all askew. And to add to the fire I am in a hole at work so deep I cant even see daylight. It must be December. Yesterday I did not even have time for lunch.

remember last week when I said I had a goodnights sleep? Last night I had some call the wrong number four times over a two and a half period. plus the power went out for over three hours. I'm tired.
