The weekend and country songs

I will listen to the country station this morning and I have no doubt that I will hear at least one song about the weekend. It's Finally Friday are the lyrics that come to mind. I am not sure this next song in my head is about the weekend but it's lyrics are Going out with my Boots on. I have no big plans for the weekend but I am excited to see it is here. And if I do go out I will just be wearing shoes.

What happened to the stock market?

Is the rally dead? Three days of large declines. I was hoping to see some stability but gas price are on the rise, stocks are declining and more rain is forecast. But on the bright side. we went for a boat ride last night. Around here October has tried to dispel global warming. The temps have been more like February.

Laying low

Yesterday at work we had our corporate director on campus. This time I took a new approach to this. My contact was less than a few minutes and that was in the the lunch room. I am hoping for out of site out of mind. Unfortunately for my director she can't do the same.

Tired

I am not rested from the weekend so I think i will go to work today and try to catch up. Yesterday at work was one of those days where I never got to a thing I planned on. But, today's a new day!

The weekend was spent working around the house. I had three projects on my list and accomplished four. Not yo bad for old guy.

Festival

Our downtown area is having a party this weekend. We did not attend last year maybe this year we should go take a look. Diane and I are such social party animals.

Old Rules

Thinking this could be the name for the reality TV show I talked about yesterday. Next episode is about the maintenance guy. The story line has to due with his reaction to the gentleman who ask him to adjust his toilet so the the BM goes strait down as to not leaving a mark on the side of the toilet. then on to the story line about assisting a blind gentleman with the purchase of a new TV.

Reality TV

Yesterday at lunch we got talking about a reality show situated in an assisted living residence. All the good names like survivor are used. The first episode is about residence drying out their Depends so they can be reused. with a side story of a resident blowing his nose at lunch in the linen napkin. It's reality, I just don't know if you should laugh of cry.

It maybe cold this morning

It maybe cold this morning but at least the sun has been shining. We sat at the dock last night and enjoyed the rays. The sunset was beautiful. Highs will be back in the seventies today, that's always a good thing. The leaves are starting to fall and the tropical plants are deciding it's time to give it up.
The fish were quite active last night. They were jumping all around the place. Diane suggested we should start going fishing.

Frost Warning

What's with that! I don't think we had frost here last night but it was forecast. I started loading up the green house yesterday so I would not have to bring plants in at the last minute. I had no idea it was going to get this cold so early. Yesterday was an average January day.

Trip to headquarters

Yesterday was spent making a trip to the cor prate motherland. It is quite an impressive facility. We have about 40 employees in Macon they have 400. Where they have an eight man maintenance staff with a secretary. In Macon I have me. They have a few more facilities than we do in Macon. but I must say they don't have eight times as many. One other thing they have in Waycross is the largest Oak tree in the US. The canopy of this three is about 120 to 150 feet wide and the trunk is about 15' wide. It is quite the sight.

Wet again

Yesterday was another day of rain. It rained all day and most of the evening. This might go down as one of the wettest falls on record. I sure am glad we got sod in the front yard. If not our property would have been in the lake.

Social calendar

We filled the obligations on our social calendar this weekend. A fish fry on Saturday and a Baptist baby dedication service on Sunday with diner following. Then proceeded to sit around all Sunday afternoon. If not for mowing the grass on Saturday I may have been considered useless.

Yipee

Rain is forecast for the weekend, We can't go to Georgia National Fair. Garage sales will be rained out. oh yeah, and you cant work around the house. However it is supposed to be almost ninety today. I should of took today off and worked tomorrow.

When the eagle flies

We went for a boat ride last evening and got to see bald eagle. That coupled with only seeing one other boat during the trip made for nice ride.

Did not deliver

The sun did not shine on me as forecast yesterday. And the Tigers did not win. That about sums up Tuesday. On the brighter side however, the steak we grilled last night was great.

In need of sunshine

I remember those Februaries where the sun did'nt shine for weeks. Now I go two days without and I long to see the rays. Today I guess I get my wish. Another three weeks and I may have to keep a lookout for frost. I started this past weekend transplanting some plants into the green house. And I have been looking online for seeds for next springs planting.

Government and healthcare

I have been giving a lot of thought lately to our law makers and representatives. They are pondering the future off health care, our health care. Now I want to know! Are government employees going to opted out of this plan like they are with social security. I feel really uncomfortable with someone making decisions like that if it does not apply to them. I also wonder if the government pension plan is in trouble like Social Security. If not, maybe we could borrow from it so it will be defunct in twenty years.

Happy October

A new month brings the recycling of the preventive maintenance. Today will be a 12 hour day at work. The dining room carpet is a mess and tonight it's night to get cleaned. Life don't get much more exciting that this.
