Here it is again!

Just like that it's the weekend again. And a long one to boot. I have the option to work on Monday. It seems that most of the management team is. I feel a little guilty planning to take it off.
We have had a unusual amount of move outs at the Villa's which means more move ins. The units need to be spruced up between tenants. I have one unit that was a disaster that I am working on when time allows. But I have another waiting so I decided to bring in part time help to get that one ready to go. It probably doesn't sit well taking Monday off and bringing in part time help. Yes we have paid holidays but remember we run 24/7. Oh! And we frown on overtime.

I have to conduct a fire drill at 6:30 this morning. So its off I go. I will comp the time till Friday making it an extra long weekend.

Rain and lots of it

Drought what drought. It came down in buckets yesterday. Tornado's popping up all over. I did see the sun for about fifteen minutes and then it was more rain. It was a long drive home in a heavy downpour yesterday. The road I travel is grooved from truck traffic so the water sits in the groves. I was like water skiing all the way home.

Nothin new

Just a workin and a liven, Haven't seen the sun for over twenty-four hours. The clouds are in the way. It hasn't reach ninety in the last 5 days that's different. The high the other day was 79 I was starting thinking about a jacket. This is starting to sound like a country song.

Wet dry wet dry

The sun would shine for ten minutes, rain for ten, clouds for ten and start all over. That seemed to be the weather pattern for the weekend. Went to church and to IHOP that was the excitement for the weekend. The rest of the time was spent working around the house and watching TV.

Celebrating Andy's birthday without him was just not the same.

Here it is Friday again. I never known weeks to go bye so fast. Well maybe when I was on vacation.
Looks like most of the rain is going to go South. We could use a little. I have noticed that some of the trees here are turning colors and some the leaves are dropping, It could be that it's a little dry. Or they leaf out twice a year.

Hey!

It's taken about 5 month but I am automatically starting to greet folks with Hey instead of hello or hi. But I still won't eat slimy okra. Y'all reckon I have a chance at this southern thing.

I have to load some art work up this mornen that I am fixen to take to work. We are trying to create a completely decorated room to help folks see what the rooms can be. When they view our facility.

I quit!

I thinking of quiting the new job. This getting up early takes away my view of the lake. I guess I will have to wait till the end of daylight savings time. Then complain about the nights.

The mosquitoes are really bad here now. We never really remember having them around before. At least not as a problem.

Looks like we might be in for a dose of rain this weekend. Compliments of TS Fay. North Georgia is hoping for a drought ender. something that will bring all the lakes up to full pool.

Next phase

Friday I tested and passed the first phase of testing for my CDL license. I have passed all the required written tests and now have to pass the driving test. The next phase is vehicle inspection. You have to inspected your vehicle as to is safety. The next one is based on parking backing up etc. Then comes the road test. You may wonder why a maintenance person needs a CDL. One of my responsibilities will be driving our residents to monthly lunches, theater etc.

No time to blog. I had to fill out some paperwork this morning. Should have did it yesterday but I forgot.

Where did it go?

This week flew bye in record speed. I can't believe it's Friday already.

This afternoon I will start a large project at work. Large in comparison to my normal duties. I have to repaint a two bedroom condo. They expect it to take about 6 weeks at the best. It could be done in less than that time but it will depend on interruptions and other duties.

Catching up!

I am a little behind in the techno world these days. But in an effort to catch up I purchased a GP
S. This one will show the pics from the digital camera. Play MP3 (which I don't own) but I can down load the files to a memory stick. It also tells me of eating establishments, points of interest. and many other things. Today is my first pay day. This will be a harsh awareness. But I love the job.

What to do?

I have been listening to audio books on the drive to and from work. The one I am currently into is 10 Cd's long with many details. Cd three is so scratched it will hardly play. Question is do I scrap the the time I have invested in the book or continue, hoping the rest of the Cd's are okay. Or get the book and read the missed spots.

Next two days weather calls for cold and rain. Low to mid eighties with rain. Right now it's seventy-five and dark.

The weather is fine wish you were here

Yesterday brought low humidity and cooler temperature making for a beautiful day. I think the high was only 89 with a light breeze. Mowed grass, went to church, etc. etc. making for a normal weekend. I think this morning at work, due to the cooler air I will go into the attic to change HVAC filters. Then service the refrigerators in the kitchen and my PM sheets will be completed for the month.

Happy to be working

Week two is in and I am still happy to be working. I don't long for Friday's but its always nice when the weekend comes and Diane and I can spend the time together.

We are expecting a cool down today, 92 is the forcasted high. That's getting back closer to the normal temp.

Yesterday was a none event full day at work until 4:00. I had a water main break. It's strange to stand there with a 2" stream of water bubbling up from the ground and have no idea where to turn it off. I called the city and with the help off the water dept I learned that there was a main shut off. It was just a matter of locating it.

Service no service

Our Internet service was out yesterday, hence no blog. It was Diane's birthday and I got a half day off and we had a fun day, We went here there and everywhere, Ended up in Jackson GA for supper. Lucky's Italian, sounds stupid but its a great spot.

13 1/2

I put in 13 1/2 hour yesterday. That frees me up to take the afternoon off for Diane's Birthday.

The carpet cleaning process is tiring process. It's a big machine that is not self propelled. so after a few hours it start to get heavy to pull around.

Long day

Today should make for a long work day. I have a company coming in at 8 pm to clean the hood in the kitchen. I thought I would hang around and clean the dining room carpet while they are there. I should be able to get started right after the dinner hour. Friday was strange day. I was all pumped up to start the preventive maintenance projects but by 9:30 I was called off them by the director to go be a scavenger. It's a long story and I don't have the time to share. I work with some good people and they all seem to have a good time during the bad stuff as well as the good stuff.

Excited

I am excited to start the new month to see how long the cycled maintenance items will take. Frank the the part time guy said the carpets will take about three days. I see how it might but then again Frank is not a speedster. If this would have been a full work week for me I would get off early today. I worked till 6:45 yesterday so that means I could come in late or go home early. anytime in the two week pay cycle.
