Having fun

Andy & Rachel have arrived and we are all having a good time, The weather has been less than stellar. Yesterday was only in the eighties and it rained in the early evening. We did need the rain in the area. And we did get a good soaking. I will need to go to Macon this morning to apply for a job. If I go alone or with company hasn't been decided yet. Diane is off today still recovering. Each day she gets a little better but is still hurting from the surgery.

Try to plant something today!

Update

The patient is doing well. Right now she is sitting in front of the China cabinet rearranging china.
Maybe next she can clean behind the refrigerator. She is quite sore but is trying to keep occupied. If it were me I would sit and watch TV.

Applied for two more jobs this morning. If I get asked to interview for all the positions I applied for this week it will become a full time job.

Today is clean the house day so I better get at it. I have a supervisor today I best not goof off.

Have a sweeeeeet weekend!

Keep it moving

Diane and I went for a boat ride yesterday. It was so hot we had to keep the boat moving at a quick pace to keep it cool enough to sit there. I also burnt the bottom of my foot on a dock yesterday. Now that's what I call getting hot.

Today's events include Diane having her gallbladder removed. She has had a great run of luck since being here. When she first arrived she had a bad respiratory problem along with a terrible cough. For weeks the cough never went away. Then the doctor realized it was a reaction to a medication. A couple of days later cough was gone. About a week an a half ago we ended up in the ER with Diane in a lot of pain. Today's action is to correct that pain. Pray for safe surgery and good results please.

Go for it today!

Duty Calls

I just finished emptying the dishwasher. (Where is Phylis when you need her) that was her job when she visited. Diane informed me that all bathrooms need toilet paper and tissue.

I applied for another position this morning online. I meet the skills required. Some of the skills listed as preferred I did not possess. That application took about 45 minutes to fill out.

I am going this morning to finish a drywall repair and hook up a trailer for towing for the lady I did work for. Also I need to get under the Transport and see why the speedometer is malfunctioning. Also last night we went an purchase 3 more plants. So planting is in the mix today.

I must be spending to much time on the computer. Everyday I receive notice that I have won the lotto or a prize or have great sums of money waiting to be claimed. I am tired of getting emails offering product to enlarge my penis. Yesterday I got an email for a friend who said he finally found a prostitute that charges by the inch. He said, obviously he could not afford her but he thought I might. Ouch!

Take the day over the top!

Aplications/ Full time job

I am finding out that filling out online applications for employment is a full time job. You can spent hours on the process. I vote for a standard application that all companies can use. Or maybe I should start a company that does that for you. Finds, searches and applies. There are a lot of job search entities out there but I have found none that fill out the application for you. I would like to take a class on the creation of a cover letter. Can the job be gained or lost just by the cover letter. While I am on it! I need an interview coach. Having never interviewed in over thirty years I apparently stink at it. I try just being myself but that's not working. Oh well! Today's another day. On with the search.

Enjoy the summer day!

Guestless, again

Dad has went back home but I still purchased this on Ebay Sunday night. This is a surrey that you hook behind a walk be hind mower to make it a rider. I plan on hooking it behind a riding mower and and make it passenger seat. This would be great if you had about ten of them and hooked them together for a parade.
Still looking for a job, Did not get the Putnam County School job. More resumes going out to day.
Y'all have a good week!

And about twenty minutes ago our neighbor WA brought us fresh blue berries. I mean fresh, as in just picked.

Went for a boat ride just after dark last night. We headed off to the West and about five minutes out we turned around and this beautiful full moon was coming over the trees. It was fabulous. I would like to do it again tonight if the company would like.

Gots ta go, Pork to pull & house to clean.

Cold spell

I best bring out the long johns today. The temperature has drop to 65 degrees for the low. Still going to the upper eighties for the high today.

Cleared more landscape yesterday. Thats pretty much is it for the reclaiming process. The rest of the work will be planting, new affects and sidewalk and maintenance.

The sun travels have went far enough it's time for it to change its direction and return. As I sit in my chair at night The sun has traveled enough so the light come trough the front door and hits me right in the eyes. As the sunsets move back to the South West I look forward to October when the sunsets are the best here.

Enjoy the long day!

No goofing off!

The US Open is over so there will be no goofing off today. It was like being on vacation at Houghton Lake watching the British open. I have fond memories of that.

Diane's doctor thinks she has gall bladder problems. More tests on Wednesday. Still in pain from time to time. Drugs help the pain but not the brain.

Three days to company! Lets start cooking now.

I best get on to my chores. before it gets hot hot hot.

Keep up the good fight!

Did not make the team

Fathers day in the minors. Wasn't up in the show this Fathers day. Missed the big game. I imagine Patterson field was electric. Our Sunday morning was spent at the hospital. Diane had severe pain on her right side. They did all kinds of tests and did not find what is causing it. The doctor said I don't know why you hurt but you are going yo be okay. So today we need to follow up with our doctor. I can't imagine what he will do, I think they tried about every test in the book.

What a US Open. I watched all four days. Tiger Woods is a lucky as he is great. I would put my money on him today but it would be a great story is Rocko won it.

I had planted some grass on Thursday of last week. Yesterday while I was mowing I noticed that the new grass was an 1 1/2 inches tall. It's amazing to me what heat and sun and water can do. If I would build a larger trellis Dianes tomato plants would be over six feet tall. I still long to have a green lush yard. The grass is still coming back. I may still sod an area but I need to have the sidewalk completed and the dry wash in place.

Have a sublime week!

It's that time again

Pick up, dust, vacuum and mop the floor. It must be Friday!

Yesterday brought more planting I think I might be out of control. If we fail financially here in Ga it will because we spent all our money on plants. lumber & dirt, And I forgot, solar lights. Oh! and I don't get a job.

Yesterdays car detailing went well, it took about 5 hours. I am glad it was a small SUV. White is hard car to detail. Trying to get out all the dirt and grease around the door hinges and latches is time consuming. This vehicle has a 142,000 miles on it. She will be asking $6,000.00. In addition to having it detailed she had 4 new tires installed on Wednesday.

I just thought about getting fuel. If I filled the Expedition up, my truck & the van and our boat. Top off the jet ski's filled the two John Deeres and my fifteen gallon fuel caddie it would cost $520.00 Maybe that's why I haven't went on a boat ride for two days. Yikes!

Please send money! Our an electric boat.

Detailed

Today's adventure will be detailing a car to prepare it for sale. It is for a customer and it is a Honda CRV. I am hoping to complete it in 4to 5 hours.

Planted a few more azaleas yesterday and installed a few more solar lights. I should take a count of azaleas on the property. It should be at least above fifty plants.

Didn't get the call on the job front yesterday still hoping it will come.

Well that's about it for today. Looking forward to the company next week, the long range weather calls for moderation. Sunny and upper 80's should be the venue.

Power your way through the day!

Endless

Yesterday I cleaned the carport out. It seems to be and endless battle. I try to keep things in order but it always seems that I am focused on the project of the moment and order goes to the wayside till it's completed.

Both John Deeres got power washed yesterday. They deserved it. I can't begin to image doing the landscape projects without them.

This morning I am going to transplant a plant and then go over to a customers house to check out a leak for her. After that I think I will make a trip to town and purchase some additional solar lights to enhance some of the landscape.

Yesterday I interviewed far a position with the Putam County School District. It was for a Facilities Manager position for their elementary school and the Board of Education building.

I would be managing a seven person staff and be responsible for all custodial and maintenance of for mentioned buildings. It doesn't sound like a tough job until you find out they have fourteen hundred students in K thru 5th. They have fourteen first grade teachers alone. I feel the interview went well and I hope to hear something soon. But I have been here before. I think it could be a great position for me and a situation that I would like to finish out my working days at. It has all the benefits that Diane's position has. Same insurance etc. etc. It has a 10 year vest for retirement so if health stays good that could be a goal.

Stay focused today and get the job done!

Planted

All our plants are planted in the new lake side landscape. Well, at least the plants we purchased. I also stole a few from here & there from the rest of the yard.

Yesterday was another scorcher. To give you an idea of the heat there are a few things I've learned. If you leave your garden hose out in the sun with the water on it will eventually explode. Also if you rinse your feet of with the same hose the water can burn you. You could kill plants if you don't run the water for a few minutes and let it cool down. I should build a solar water heater!

It has not rained here for over a week now. I am sure glad we have an irrigation system. In this heat things would just wilt away.

The gardenias and hydrangeas are in bloom now. They are spectacular. The trouble is the gardenias are short lived. In no time they wilt and turn brown.

Have an enriched day!

Sizzlin in The South

It's fixin to be another hot day today. Yesterday we set a new record of 100. I spent the weekend building a head wall as part of the lakeside landscape. It was hot hot hot. About every 30 minutes required a jump in the lake. But the lake temp is in the eighties now. My next job is not quite ready to go so it will be more landscape work today.

Diane and I sat on the porch last night and marvel at the beauty. And thanked God we get to enjoy it. Teal and orange sky's make for a beautiful twilight.

Enjoy the week!

Once again

Here it is again, cleaning day. Though I forward to being in the A/C. It's that time of year here that if you don't get your outside work done by 10:00 am the heat makes it difficult. The 10 day forecast is mid to upper 90's all ten day's. Diane has a half day today so I will try to have the house cleaned and meet her for lunch in town by noon.

Saturday night we are going to the New Comers club for a lawn party and dinner. We are not really that sociable but I find it a good avenue to pic up work.

Things are growing fast around here. We are picking tomatoes and peppers and one of the tomato vines is over 4' high. I really think if you sat and watched you could see stuff grow.

Night before last we went for a twilight boat ride. We encountered another another couple doing the same. For some reason we both stopped and shut of the engines and drifted and talked. It was a beautiful evening. The lows at night are in the mid seventies now, mid eighties at bedtime.

The lake is a sheet of glass this morning with reflections of everything. The air is filled with the sounds of birds. The geese seem to use the water as a map to a destination either up or down the water way. As you sit you see the squirrels and chipmunks going about their activities.

Have a sweet weekend!

Gotta go

I got asked to take my DR vacuum to Bethel United Methodist and suck up debris on their grounds. I am leaving in fifteen minutes. I got to beat the heat, its seventy five out now and I am sure it will be 90 by noon. Went out to diner last night and the temp at the bank said 100.

Whats in a name?

Kristie and Sam have two boys now, One named after a clock manufacturer and one after a freeway. Now I hear Seth has a thing for with wheels, maybe Daniel will have a thing for clocks. ( Time will tell) Both are great names. Down south, Seth is a pretty safe name when it comes to pronunciation. Thomas would be (Toe mass) But for Daniel it would come out (Danel Ron) So in some respects Daniel and I share a name.

Pick up some more work! I will be replacing a damaged bathroom floor. This is a good thing due to the completion of my current project.

Y'all have special day!

Fish Flies

We have been invaded!
Once again the fish flies have arrived. They stay down at the boat house which means we stay up at the house, fortunately they are only around for a day or two. This happens two to three time a year around here.
Yesterday I got paid to clean a garage. I enjoyed throwing things away, deciding what she needed and what she should sell. I also set up a side room of the garage for a garage sale. All the items are displayed according to usage. Water sports, camping. etc.
Today I am going to paint some porch columns and a door and look for a furnace filter as a replace an existing one.
Y'all stay cool and have a great day!

A few changes

Well on Friday the carpet was installed. That went well. It looks and feels good. Saturday I bought some knock out roses and planted them on the lake side. as well as a large sago palm. Saturday was also spent cleaning and vacuuming the yard. I think I will be picking up sticks forever.

Ken & Sue spent last Saturday with us and they brought us this bird feeder. It is placed on the lake side in view from the front porch.

Phylis suggested we put shutters on the boat house. She was right the made it look nicer.

I moved the wind mill on Sunday to make it more visible and to receive more of a breeze.

Have a good week!
