No Friday blog computer shutdown do to carpet installation

WAKE UP

I have tried to get up every morning by 6:30 since arriving in GA. But since I have been working I find it to be a little more difficult. I still fall asleep in my chair at about 9:30. But this get up and go stuff is tough. What's on Good Morning America today! Have a third cup of coffee. Walk Diane to the car. That's a morning situation I can live with. The dream is over I am awake now.

Congrats to Amanda on her new job.

Have a splendid day!

It's off to work again today. This is becoming a habit.
It's time for coffee blog ya tomorrow.

Nobody told the boaters

Somebody tell the boaters that gas is $4.00 per gallon. The lake was overflowing with jet skis and boats. There was a continual 1 foot chop just from the traffic. Today the serenity is back. There is not a ripple on the lake.

It's off to work today so I can afford to play. Have a good week and reach your peak. For the weekend is 4 days away.

Bye!

Work

This going to work thing is a tough business. I would much rather stay home and do my home projects. I know now that I am going to like retirement if I every get there. For me there seems to be and endless supply of ideas and projects. Stayed home yesterday and cleaned up from the storm. I will work today and tomorrow I will take off because Diane is taking the day off to do something fun with our guest. Saturday its off to Atlanta to the airport to drop off our guest. Saturday night more guest arrive for the night. Weather is warm, next week in the 90's

Bye have a fun day!

WOW!

I am still alive! Friday was the garage sale. Saturday the Internet started acting up. Tuesday I got it fixed. Tuesday night we had a tornado lost all Internet, cable and power. A lot of downed trees and debris. We lost a few big limbs one of which his the gutter on my carport. One neighbor lost a huge pine tree and it landed on his new shed. Cut it right in half. I lost most of my flags and flag poles and brackets on the boat house. We got power back shortly after 10:00 this morning. I must say that the DR lawn & leaf vac. was a blessing. Well I have some trees to saw up so I will blog ya later.

Let the games begin!

The garage sale is ready to go. Let's hope for 100% in sales. If not I have the number for someone who comes and buys whats left. He is my hero!

We got a boat ride in last night, enjoy that. Also worked a couple hours at the handyman job yesterday.

Rain is for casted for early evening. and through the night. with less of a chance in the morning.

Diane is still struggling with working and is beginning to dread each day! Sometimes she doesn't like it because of what she has to do and at other times it is because she has nothing to do.

That's all for this morning. I may not blog tomorrow due to garage sale.

Hey! Have a great day!

Wrong!

Yesterday I mentioned about anticipating the garage sale prep work not being s bad. I was wrong. It was a full day's work with more on the horizon today. I thought we divested ourselves of stuff in Flat Rock. The 2 car carport is full and many items will be in the driveway.
I hope that the economic stimulus money will be spent at our garage sale. Speaking of which, ours was spent on new carpet for the bedroom, hall, bathroom and closets. We wanted to do our part to help the economy.

Haven't had time for a boat ride this week. Plus the first couple of days were windy. We may have to double up near the end of the week. Garage sale ends at 2 on all days. After that I would like to go cruising.

I applied for another position this morning. Not sure I will qualify. The position is for a maintenance tech for Trane industries. (manufacture of HVAC equipment)

Hey Y'all, Keep positive and have a very special day!

G.S. Prep

Today we start Garage Sale preparations. I don't think it will be to bad of chore. We have rid ourselves of most small items, therefore pricing items should be a little easier.

Yesterday we got a start on removing Azaleas from the seawall area. It will make a dramatic difference to the look. But it will involve a lot of work and the purchase of a lot of materials. Thus making it a slow project.

Today the winds have died done and the temp is going to be in the low eighties. How sweet is that.

Mother Nellie says hello to everyone. Though I can't think of anyone see hasn't called. Or who hasn't called her.

I called about the position that I applied for in Macon yesterday. It has not been filled and they are still taking applications and interviewing. That means I did not impress them enough to stop the process. But I guess there could still be a chance.

Y'all enjoy the day!

Director of entertainment or task master

With company here this morning the choice is to be the task master or the director of entertainment. Maybe task master in the morning and entertainment director in the afternoon.

There was heavy damage from storms in the area on Sunday morning. The lightning was from the storms was almost a steady flash. The big mall & shopping district in Macon was hit hard. The assisted living center that I was hoping to get a job at is right in that area. Sunday was a good day not to be the supervisor of maintenance their.

It's going to be cool here this week. Mid to upper 70s for the highs. That will be good weather for getting ready for the moving sale or maybe I should say moved sale.

This would be a great week for yard work. but I am not to sure I will get any in. also I have the handy man project to get into.

Y'all have a safe week!

Warm with a light breeze

You gotta love the weather down here. It has been just this side of spectacular. The humidity has raised a bit but the light breeze compensates for it. Mid eighties is the norm for now. If you have to work in the the direct sunshine it can be tough.

Today is house cleaning day. Need to get ship shape for our guest arriving tomorrow. At 10:00 this morning I have to go pick-up a house key for my first handyman project. It is about a week & a half worth of work with the possibility of turning into more.

No phone call on the job prospects.

My house duties call so Y'all have a nice weekend!

Time on my hands

Diane got one a look at a project I did yesterday. And said I have to much time on my hands. After getting the irrigation system installed some of the hanging plants do not receive water due to their height. So I built a special hanging apparatus. It may just look like a post with a rod through it. But the neat part is when the irrigation system comes on a sprinkler head pops out of the top and waters the hanging pots. Maybe I should create about ten different models, market them and retire on the millions.
I can see models with solar lights, Iron filigree and maybe a model that looks like an old wooden pump. Any investors out there? We could even invent one with a fertilizing component. You could make them for electrical outlets in the yard, Hose bibs in the garden. Yep, I have too much time on my hands.
PS
How about a model that looks like a scarecrow!
Have a spectacular day!

This is the day!

Today is the first day I prayerfully anticipate a call for a second interview for the job in Macon. It may never come but one can hope and pray. I have a gut feeling if it doesn't come between now and Friday it won't come.

Last nights boat ride was great! It was very calm and the boat cut through the water like a knife. It's one of the things I love. I really like early morning rides but it's been around 60 degrees at 6:30 a.m. so I will wait a few weeks. Hopefully by then it will be working and the rides will have to come on my day off.

The Jasmine has bloomed! How great is that fragrance. I first caught the fragrance when working in the yard yesterday. But last night coming up from the boat ride it filled the yard.
I have not seen a lilacs in Georgia. It baffles me as to why. It would seem to me that they would thrive in this climate. Maybe the soil is just not suitable. I miss that fragrance.

That's it! Have a nice day.

What's this world coming to?

Yesterday when I turned in my resume for Supervisor of Maintenance for the Green County School District I was told I needed to submit a criminal background check with it. Just to turn it in. Then when I went to get the report there was a $5.00 charge that could only be paid for with a money order. That cost an extra $1.05. Today I have to go pick it up and deliver it. So if you figure the gas and the fee I have $16.55 invested in a job that I may not even be qualified for.

Did a small amount of landscape yesterday afternoon. Hope to do a bit more this afternoon. My long term landscape plans include a dry wash on the hillside, a natural stone walk to the lake and a small retaining wall on the hillside to backdrop a planted area. If I get a job the landscape could become a ten year plan. Unless I get a real good job and have it done. As you know I had the irrigation system installed by others. How weird that felt, I could get used to it though.

Y'all have sweet day!

Heading North

No I am not coming home. I am heading to Greensburo GA this morning to turn in my resume for a position in the Green County School District. They are in need of a maintenance supervisor for the school district. It would be funny if I got this job. Back to school after 37 years. We we all know I could use more education.

It looks like the wedding went well. All of Tom & Pam's children are married off. Good job guys!

I hope to get a call from the folks from John Wesley Villas this week. I would really like a shot at that position. Please pray for things to turn out right. What ever that may bring.

Have a great week!

All messed up!

It feels like it should be June. Upper 70's low 80's I keep having the mind set that you only have a few month of this then its back to the cold. In reality (that's where I live) I have six month of swimming weather left. Yesterday's effort yielded trimmed hedges, raised canopy and about 30 feet more of reclaimed landscape.
Friday I go on my first estimate estimate as a handyman. We went to a newcomers get together last Saturday night (can you believe it) And I made some contacts. Handed out a few business cards. All in all it yielded some possible work.
Well its of to the dump this morning then to the doctors & then to the financial investment folks.

Y'all have blessed day!
