Oh, I almost forgot Merry Christmas!

The package arrived

Riley flew in from California last night and boy were her legs tired. Actually she flew Northwest. It appeared she flew with two other critters and on horizontal human. I know its the first time I every went to pick up a four legged passenger at the airport. I assume it may not be the last.

One more day of work and its off for two. I had a phone interview yesterday it seemed to go well and the interviewer said there would be another. Pay scale was low but benefit package was pretty good.

Well it's just about time for the two legged passengers to arrive at the airport so I best be ready to go.

Nutten new

Today start the Christmas celebration. The California dog arrive this evening and tomorrow so do all the children. It will be a whirlwind celebration and then it's off to GA for a quick maintenance & job hunting trip.

I have a to return a call today from the Ritz-Carlton in regards to employment. I hope they want to set up an interview.

Up and about

I am up a little early today. I lay in bed for an half of hour and finally decided to get up. Now I sit at the computer yawning. Bad part is I can't have coffee this morning due to pending blood work this morning.

Here we are at the last Wednesday in Advent, that sure went quick!

Change is good

Yesterday I head out to do a two hour project and in about an hour it turned into a two day project. I was to replace about four tile but upon removal it was found to have rotten substrate as well as studs. Today it back to set new tile on a newly installed substrate.

Did I mention I hate the cold and snow. Yes I admit it it's true. I don't even find it pretty when it first snows anymore.

Keep your feet dry it's the only way to survive!

Georgia is lookong good

Yesterday was on of those Michigan days I can do without. Yesterday was the Christmas Musical at church. Everybody had to risk life and limb to get there. Andy was home so we had to worry about that trip back to Huron. ( He made it) Blow snow, plow snow I'd rather be on the boat. I hope to leave my double insulated Carharts behind when I move.

Busy Bees

I can tell that the blogging community is a little busy this week. Time really starts to get in short supply before holidays. Take a deep breath and stay focused. Out of the two major Holidays, Christmas and Easter, I tend to favor Easter. Not 100% sure as to why but it seems to mean more to me. Christ is born or Christ is risen either way it is great news.

Where's the snow

Last night I heard 1 - 2 inches by morning. Oh well, I will count this as a blessing.

I had one of those days at work yesterday. If it could go wrong, it did. However today is new day.

Getting old

It may be the sign off our age but Diane and I are both having testing done this morning. Diane is having blood work and I am having a pulmonary test of some kind. Mine is to establish a baseline because of this tough drug I am taking.

OTM (operation thin Man) is doing OK, except for the hand full of popcorn I had last night. I am sure I didn't gain any weight in the last two days but I don't know if I lost any either. I never weigh myself until about two weeks into the reduction mode.

The first day of operation thin man went pretty well. It seems the brain is willing to cooperate at this point.

Work is down to 3 small jobs. that will take me till I get back from GA in January. I applied for two positions last evening. One with the City of Milledgeville and one with the Ritz Carlton. Who knows if work gets really bad I may have to relocate sooner than expected. God help me with that! The position for the Ritz would be a maintenance job. I seem to be qualify for the job but previous salary may keep me from being considered. The application was online and it took over forty minutes. It seemed is was more a psychological test than related skills.

The fat is back!

I wish I could say it is caused by the medication or it's because I have to refrain for eating salads. It's not, I just eat too much. Pants don't fit right anymore. Shirts are getting tight.
And worse yet it's Christmas time with a cookie around every corner. In my head this morning I vow to do something about it. We will see what reality brings. If eating is controlled by the brain I need more brain power. I can say for certain I am not eating because I am hungry. I need to get a physical hobby. My knee is bad so running is out, My shoulder is messed up so I can throw a ball, do push ups or the like. And worst yet I don't have enough money for lypo suction. When I look around I know I am not the fattest cat on the planet. But it's not right. God didn't give me this body to destroy it I have got to lose some weight.

Fab Friday

Yea ha! it's the weekend! I see a little packing in my future this weekend. I am swapping out one of the John Deeres this weekend for a trenching machine. The trencher will travel to Ga to help install the lawn sprinkler system. I may have to build a shelf for the Christmas village that Diane is creating. I ask here if she had a permit for all the building she was doing and see said yes, it was grandfathered to her. What is needed is and electrical inspection so many wires so little plugs.

Now that's what I am talking about

It is 29 degrees warmer in Milledgville this morning than here. The ten day for cast calls for 9 days of 70 or above. That's good working weather. I wonder what constitutes good retirement weather? Maybe any weather! And as for the white stuff! I shoveled for about twenty minutes yesterday. spread salt for another 5. and had to worry about tracking in snow on the job site. and I got to see a Ford explorer totaled by a tree on S. Huron River Drive. There is a reason I own jet skis instead of snowmobiles.

Old friends

I was contacted by a classmate from high school last night via email. I don't think I have seen her (Chris) for at least 35 years. It's seems funny to find out about someone after all those years. We exchanged photo's and I think time has been more kind to her than to me. She still has all her hair! Before exchanging photos I said to Diane I bet Chris looks like her mother. And when she sent the photos the first statement was please don't tell me I look like my mother. She resembled her mother but from what I remember but I wouldn't say see looked like her.

Happy Birthday!

Birthday wishes go out to Harry in Kansas city today. I believed it is number 89.

Not much new in my life. Same old aches and pains. Sinus problem is still somewhat of a problem. I must say I am tired of the cold weather already, There is a better way out there. Thirty mile per hour winds and 33 degree temps I can do without. I realize it is only 36 right now in Milledgeville but I bet it will get to fifty before noon.

New Week, Time for Preperation

Here we are in the first week of Advent trying to stay focused on what matters most in life, and death. So many distraction. I hope as we make our way to the manger that we can experience good health, peace and Christian kindness along the way, allowing us to stay focused, Thus, making this the best Christmas celebration ever.
