Back to work

I need to get back to work. I could use the rest. I had a great long weekend. I was able to get two larger projects done around the house. And still relax a bit on Monday.

I found Memorial Day weekend to be a tough period emotionally. I did some quick math and realized that over a million Americans have fought & died over the 200 plus years of existence. Our freedom & life styles come at a great price. When you think that some gave all so we could have it all. We just need to be sure we cherish life and enjoy it. At a tribute and honor to those who went before.

Long weekend

What are you going to do with the extra day? I got an idea! Let's observe Memorial Day. I think I will also pretend it's Arbor day and plant a tree. Either way we should be thankful for those who sacrificed for our freedoms.

Our faith should be our steering wheel not our spare tire.

Keep Climbing

We get to go over the hump today and make this week a down hill walk. When you get to the top today take a deep breath, then thank God you live in a country with so many freedoms. (even if it is the freedom to work)

Andy goes for a bone scan today. He did get some steroid injections yesterday, He said he feels some relief. Thank-You Jesus!

Day Two

Day two of week and still no back pain, could be a trend. Now, if I could only get Andy on the same trend.

How about those Piston! Ya.

The funeral home project is in the finish trim stages, it is going to look great.

Just answered an email from the neighbors in Georgia, makes me wish I was there. She checked our mail box and is forwarding us a notice from the tax accessors office. She said the values just keep going up. That sure is bitter sweet news.

Lets get it started!

Happy Monday to all! Today is the first day in about a month that I awoke with no back pain. I hope the trend continues.

This weekend around the house: I installed a ceiling fan/light in the bedroom. It did not have a ceiling light, that just drives me crazy. I also texture painted the family room/hall walls. Diane painted Andrews bedroom and continued wall papering the kitchen.

Rain & Pain

My back is starting to hurt again. Could it be the forecasted rain. Who knows? Take two Motrine and call me in the morning.

I am getting a new truck today. Years ago that was so exciting, now it's not the much fun. Is it that I am old or cheap. No comments please!

Andy is still not better, Not as bad, but not ok. Still trying to get some definitive answers so we can set the best coarse for treatment.

Sad

I am still working at the funeral home. And yesterday, they had services for young man of 25 years. Not sure if it was an overdose or a suicide. He was living in a homeless shelter in Detroit. The family arranged for 5 hours of visitation, and ask if they had to stay there the whole time. I find this very sad.

On another note, If we, the USA create and alternative fuel source opposed to foreign oil. Would the world be a better place? ( I don't know why I ask it just came out).

Monday Monday

Another week is in progress. Andy & I are still hurting a bit. I did better for about 4 hours, but then the pain came back. Bring on more drugs!

Does anybody know where the good weather went to? We did need the rain however. Ok, I am done complaining. On with the week!

Give me strength!

I wanted to post last night, Just so I could tell people I wrote for the Saturday Evening Post.
Trouble was, I was in to much pain to sit. It seems, I have developed Andrews malady. I am at least able to sit this morning. I need to get mobile, I have to take Andy for am MRI in Ohio. The appointment is at 10:30 in Perrysburg.

Diane was working hard yesterday striping wallpaper & trying to take care of us. While she was cooking, she went to wipe something off a heat register that she had laying on the counter. Sliced her finger pretty bad. It was still bleeding a lot during the night. I think she might go to the ER after she plays for church this morning.

Old news

I had a lot to report today, however Amanda's blog can fill you in with great detail.
All I can tell you is that the night went well, and Andy is still sleeping & breathing.

I received my Little Giant ladder yesterday, I am impressed. It is constructed extremely well and is all that it claims to be.

One other note. When I was with Andy at the doctor's office, the doctors assistant was Christy Smith. And after taking with her a bit we discovered we had a connection. Turns out, mom was her prayer partner for many years. Way to go Mom!

Job update

The lounge expansion at the funeral home is going a little slow, The electrician should get his inspection today, and hopefully, we will have it ready to drywall on Sat.

Had a great musical service at church last night, All praise & glory was offered up. Part of the service contained a segment where their was a scenic video playing, with pleasant music in the background, while bible passages were being read. I always find this quite moving.

Testing 1 2 3

Blood test on tap for this morning. No coffee, ohhhh I need coffee. Other than ordering up a bunch of test, the doctors diagnosis was, you're getting old. Doc, I said, I need a second opinion. He said, Ok, You're fat.

Have a happy hump day!

Bad Shape

As Merle would say, I'm in bad shape. I am going to the doctor today, Just to get checked out. Tom's passing prompted the call. In preparation for going, I listed some ailments. Bad idea! Starting at the bottom, I have a deformed big toe. My right ankle hurts when I go barefoot.
my left knee is about gone. Today my sciatic nerve is poking me in the butt. Both shoulders are weak, the right one is real bad. (can't throw a ball or shoot a basketball) I have a stiff neck from a pulled muscle at Sat. golf outing. My eye sight is going bad, and my hearing loss is significant. I am loosing my hair. The rest of the ailments I will keep between me & the doctor.
I should of made two appointments!

Creation

Look around! The beauty of Gods creation is in bloom. The flowers & the trees & The birds & the bees. I can't help imagine that when God created springtime he thought of his Son. Just as our surroundings are rejuvenated every spring, We also, by the the blood, are rejuvenated through the Son. So today, I thank God for springtime. And most of all forgiveness.

Yuck

As I look outside this morning everything is white with frost. Yuck! I think I am going to buy a house in a warmer climate. Oh, I did that. Why am I here?

Go Pistons! We made it through the first round of playoffs last night. Life is Good!

The lounge expansion at the funeral home is going well. It is ready for HVAC & electrical.
And there have been no big surprises, or changes to the plan.

Little Giant

After selling all my ladders at the moving sale, I decided I need a ladder! I have invested in the Little Giant ladder system. And I mean invested. How can something that I will most likely just fall off be so expensive. I a sucker for a great tool. Tim Taylor would be proud. I also sold my compressor & purchased a new & smaller unit. (Does anybody care)

Life in the blog lane

After talking to many folks at Dads 89 birthday party on Sat. I now realize a lot more people read the blogs than I thought. For someone who's spelling is poor to say the least and sentence structure is out the window, this is not a good thing. Diane said that I should have her edit my blogs. At 6:15 am! Not going to happen. So, to all my fellow bloggers. Please forgive my errors. And just try to figure out the content.
